Helpful Tips in Making a Wedding Video

The wedding of your sister is coming up and due to a tight budget you were tasked to take charge of the wedding videography. Having the basic knowledge in digital videos and owning a camera does not actually qualify you to do the best job. It may seem like a demanding task but you decide to take the challenge head on. It can be a nerve-wracking experience but being prepared can do wonders for you. Here are some useful tips that will surely help you improve your digital videotaping skills in a matter of days:

• Use manual focus instead of automatic

Although all cameras have automatic focus, it is recommended that you use manual focus if possible. It is for the reason that you will have to switch constantly from one a plane to another.

Using auto focus can be a great help most of the time but unfortunately it is not perfect. In situations like macro photography, low lighting conditions, portrait shots, shooting through glass and action photography, the manual mode is much better used.

• Use both hands in handling the camera

To accomplish having a steadier image it is important to remember to hold the camera with both hands. This simple tip is usually overlooked by beginners.

• Plan your video shots

Plan ahead of time all the events of the wedding so you will have a clear idea what you can shoot on your own or if you need more assistance. You need to be able to manage your time very well because you can never recapture something that has already happened. You should also have a video timeline. This means in your wedding footage you should all have the elements that are needed to complete the entire wedding video. These include an introduction, getting ready shots, the ceremony, and reception.

• Interview the couple

A good addition to the wedding video footage is to interview the couple separately. Oftentimes this part is undervalued. Do the interview before the ceremony starts while they are getting ready.

• Shoot extra footage

One common mistake of all videographers is not having enough material for the wedding video or they took only one shot of a moment that could have been extraordinary. Avoid this by taking as many shots as possible.

• Your movements should be smooth

You should keep your movements smooth and calculated so that the images will register unto the screen the same way.

• Match camera settings

To prevent color mismatch, make sure the white balance settings are identical. Exposure manuals should be set in maximum control.

These tips are only a few things you can develop to be prepared in shooting the much awaited wedding videography. Remember these helpful guidelines are just the basics for a beginner like you. It is still important to have lots of practice and to gain lots of experience if you ever do decide to pursue the world of videography.

Flowers have always been an essential part in every wedding. They are able to express emotions more intentionally than words can. Every type of flower and each color convey a meaning and sometimes reflect the feeling in this memorable event. A wedding is an amazing occasion that flowers takes a significant part in. Different varieties of flowers with vibrant colors are used to decorate the wedding ceremony and the reception area.

Flowers also play an important element in the outcome of the wedding videography. Its effervescent quality will give the wedding energy and life which will surely be interpreted in the wedding video. They create an atmosphere of romance and good wishes to the whole affair. So it is wise to find time to choose the kind of flowers that will fit the wedding ceremony and reception perfectly.

Since a wedding is a special event, it also demands some uniqueness especially on the flower arrangements. Selection of the flowers may depend on the theme of the wedding and its seasonal availability. If you prefer different shades of pink flowers, fall might not be the best time for you to get married. On the other hand, if you adore lilacs or tulips, perhaps you should have a spring wedding.

There are many ways to create a romantic mood at your wedding ceremony using flowers. One popular way is adorning the church aisle with fresh or dried rose petals. Flower filled urns can also be placed at the entrance ceremony which can later be brought to the reception. If you are planning your wedding in the late afternoon or evening, use candlelight and rich blooms to lighten your path and create that dreamy ambiance.

The most popular wedding flowers will include roses and calla lilies. These flowers will look amazing and an advantage is that they are available all year round. But if you want something a little bit different, add some tropical blooms in your wedding bouquet. This will surely look amazing and provide stunning wedding videography opportunities.

For the reception, there are a lot of fresh ideas you can choose from to create that magical moment for you and your guests. Use elegant vases with colored blossoms or simply scatter rose petals at center of the table around glittering candles. Instead of the usual floral centerpieces for each guest table, submerge beautiful blooms of orchids or tulips in a crystal glass. Another idea is to have your florist decorate the table with small five or six separate centerpieces instead of a big one so that each couple on the guest table can take one home. Use you imagination and do not be afraid to show your creativity. Just remember that the level of these arrangements should not interfere with guest’s ability to talk with each other.

Wedding flower arrangement is only one factor that can help you set the mood for your wedding. Deciding on the perfect flowers that will suit your style and personality can take a lot of time and patience. It will be an advantage if you consider some of these ideas to create the magical feeling in your wedding. This will definitely provide the ultimate touch in making your wedding more special and unforgettable.

If you have a little guy or gal at home you know how valuable simple tools like preschool printable calendars can be. You can use these convenient and widely available resources to help your preschooler learn about the passage of time, the flow of the seasons, numbers, the alphabet and so much more. A decorated preschool calendar is a very fun and easy teaching device for a parent to incorporate into every day life.

However, with a little creativity, you can use these calendars to do so much more. One excellent idea is to use your preschool calendars to develop a written log of your child’s life. By simply being intentional with the usage of your calendars, you can have a long term written and visual record of your child’s preschool years.

Here’s how it works.

1. Keep track of the basics.

Every parent loves to remember the milestones in their child’s life and rightly so. Growth patterns such as height, weight, etc., doctor’s appointments, and that first dental visit all can be documented on the preschool calendar. Why keep track of these things twice - once on your personal calendar and then rewritten in a baby book? Print out a preschool calendar each month, fill it out and decorate it together with your child according to the month or season and keep track of all monthly events concerning your preschooler in one place.

2. Developmental growth.

Hang your preschool calendar in a convenient place where you can use it everyday, first of all to teach your child about the date and days of the week, secondly to jot down developmental notes in real time.

Who are your preschooler’s friends at this stage of life? What parties did your child attend (or give)? Make notes on outings, weather, favorite toys, new vocabulary; all of those precious, sweet moments that will tug at your heart forever. This is the official written record of your child’s life. Use it everyday and be generous with your notes. These will be your memory joggers in future years. Your words are priceless!

3. Assemble and enjoy.

As the months roll along, keep each of your preschool printable calendars in a scrapbook. Add scrap booking pages for additional material and pictures, if you like. Setting aside just one morning or afternoon a month to assemble pictures and pop them onto pages for your book is all it will take to keep your child’s life book current, accurate and satisfying. The key to this whole idea is that you are going to do most of this ‘work’ anyway, as a course of daily life, so simply do it in such a way as to preserve it easily.

Believe me, your preschooler will be delighted as she watches ‘her’ book grow and grow. This will also help her understand difficult concepts such as time passage and help her put her seasonal experiences into a context she can muse over again and again.

This method is an easy and fun way to record all the details in your young child’s life with very little hassle. You can do a search on the web for preschool printable calendars or see my resource box below for free ones. Get started today preserving your preschooler’s daily fun!

Are you aware of the differences between the natural and organic skin care? When it comes to caring for your skin you need to be careful what it is that you are putting on your skin as there are some products that can damage your skin.

There are in fact a number of differences between natural and organic skin care and this is mainly due to the formulation of these products. For instance when it comes to organic skin care, the main ingredients are those of plants, fruits and other essential oils that are needed to help restore the texture of the skin. These products do not contain any harsh preservatives that can lead to any potential irritation.

The products that are not organic can even contain pesticides which have been obtained during the manufacturing process. These are generally used to prevent the growth of any bacteria and to give the products are very long shelf life. Even though the amounts are very minute, it still does not take away the fact, that you would never be recommended to eat such products so why on earth would you want to apply them to your skin?

This is the main reason why you need to be using organic products because they are free from any such pesticides and to certain that what you are applying to your skin is totally safe. This is especially the case if a person has very sensitive skin and they certainly do not want to experience any possible side effects.

Even though you may have decided not pursue the use of organic skin care you still need to be careful on your choice of products. This is because not all skin care products are created equally and not all ingredients that are used are organic. It could well be the case that only some of the ingredients used are organic, but the rest of the formulation consists of synthetic ingredients. If you make the right choice of products then you will be helping your skin a great deal, and if you have any ailments at present will heal much faster.

You do not always need to use the most expensive products that are available, but you also need to remember that organic products are not cheaper than standard products. But with the nature of the ingredients that are used, it is no wonder a higher cost is needed, not just in the manufacturing process but also in the retail price of the products. Cheaper products are mass produced because the ingredients are much cheaper to create and so this would explain why many of the products can be obtained in cheap discount stores.

If you are not sure of what skin products to use you can always consult a skin expert such as that of dermatologist. Depending on what your skin type is will determine what the right products for your will be. Some people do believe that they need to resort to extreme measure to have beautiful skin but this is just not the case any longer.

The final decision of what you need to apply to your skin must be in your hands, and this can affect dramatically the appearance of your skin. You need to use a level of caution when choosing products for your skin and body.

A wedding is a once in a lifetime event. It takes months or perhaps years to plan the perfect one. With so many details to remember from the wedding videography to the wedding favors, it is easy to make a mistake. Brides to be are stepping out into unfamiliar territory and trying their best to organize everything until the joyous occasion comes. There are a lot to accomplish in the wedding checklist that one or two details are often overlooked. The reason for this is inexperience.

With these said, it’s important to keep in mind these common mistakes when planning for your dream wedding to avoid possible problems on the big day:

1. Not setting up a realistic budget. A wedding costs a lot of money. It is very important to set up a realistic budget and stick to it. Not creating a budget ahead of time will often lead you to go way over your budget. Before you know it you have already spent twice for your wedding invitations and there’s nothing more left for the caterers. This predicament will possibly keep you from doing some of the special things you are planning on that special day.

2. A large guest list. This is one common mistake that every couple fall into when planning for their wedding. A wedding guest list size will depend on your budget. Decide if your wedding will be grand or will it be small and intimate. Once you have made up your mind, discuss the number of people you are able to accommodate. Make a list of must-have guests and number them according to importance. This will narrow down your choices in case everyone cannot fit on the required number of guests.

3. Not hiring a professional wedding planner. Couples often think that hiring a professional wedding planner is expensive. This is the reason why they often delegate the planning process to a friend of family member. This is a big mistake. It is much better to hire a professional to do the job who has more experience and the right connections to make sure everything is perfect on your wedding. A wedding planner allows you to enjoy your wedding day instead of worrying about every little detail.

4. Hire professionals for your wedding. To have a worry free wedding, it is important you choose the right people for the job. You may have to pay a little more for their services but wouldn’t it be better to know that these people will do a great job on the big day? One example is to hire a good videographer. A professional wedding videography can protect your most precious memories by capturing it on video. These moments will be preserved for you, your family and your future children as well.

5. The marriage license. There are many rules and regulations pertaining to a marriage license. These rules usually vary from state to state. So even if you know the rules in Atlanta, it can be a little different in Chicago. So it is much better to research ahead of time and find out information on the marriage license on the state you are planning to get married in. It is better safe than sorry.

6. Losing perspective of the big picture. After all the preparations are done, do not lose sight of what’s really important to you. This is to enjoy this once in a lifetime event with your husband.

One of the biggest ahaaa moments for me during my journey of personal development has been learning about the power of the words that we use.

We experience life in abundance whether that abundance be positive or negative. When I look out in nature I see so much abundance everywhere. So where did the poverty mindset that so many people have today come from? I believe one of the reasons so many people think so negatively is because of the words they use and the words they hear.

Words will determine what you think. Do you have order in your mind? I know my own mind has had a lot of chaos over the years. I was a pretty negative thinker, I had a lot of “Stinkin’ Thinkin’” happening in my life. What made me realize that I could control my thinking happened because of a headache.

One day a friend told me to quit saying “I have a headache”. I looked at her like she was crazy, why would I not say it when it was the truth, I did have a headache. Now for me that was a very bad thing because I have suffered from migraine headaches since I was six years old. She kept telling me to just say “I am healthy” regardless of how I felt.

At that point I tried to make sense of what she was saying and honestly I just didn’t get it. However, she was a very good friend and I trusted her so, whenever I started to get a headache, I would repeat to myself “I am healthy”. Sometimes it would work and the headache would start, but not develop into a full blown migraine. That was huge for me and made me stop and think about the words that I was using, and the words I was hearing from others.

We cannot always control our thoughts, but we can control our words, and repetition impresses the subconscious, and we are then master of the situation.” Jane Fonda

We frame our thinking by the words we hear. What we listen to on a regular basis impacts us more than we realize. What we allow to enter our brains over and over again gets imbedded into our thought patterns and eventually becomes habit. Some of our ways of thinking are good for us, others are not.

We have to choose daily to make quality word decisions or continue with stinking thinking. Ask yourself what am I surrounding myself with every day? What is repeating over and over and over and over? Is it positive or negative? Is it empowering on disempowering? It is not only the words we speak but the words of others, the words of the media through t.v. and radio, even through music.

The habits we have are a result of our thinking. Sometimes we are negative without even realizing it. Do we say “remember to pick up dog food” or do we say “don’t forget to pick up dog food” . Our brains don’t recognize the negative and they hear “forget to pick up dog food”. Hmm, we are programming our minds to do the exact opposite of what we want.

Making those quality decisions and choosing to say the positive words of the behavior we want rather than what we don’t want can change our entire life. When our words line up with the desires we have for our life we begin to speak our future into existence.

How we think each day can be set up by the words we hear and use when we first get up in the morning. What are you hearing? Are you turning on the negative news to start your day? You may want to re-think that habit and start your day on a more positive note. One of the ways you can change your words is through the use of affirmations. I start my day, every day, with positive affirmations. It would be my pleasure to share my list of affirmations with you. Simply send me an email to Carla@RetireWithCarla.com, put affirmations in the subject line and I will forward to you the list I say each morning.

Your life is what your thoughts make it.” - Marcus Aurelius

The good thing is that we all know we can change our habits. We don’t always choose to do so but we still know that we can. Words are a habit, and it is just a process to change them.

Delete the habit of negative words. Stay focused the daily habit of powerful and positive words. Remember these are habits therefore in most cases some internal digging is necessary to find out just what you are saying that is not in your own best interest.

My suggestion is to get a recorder, record yourself and then play it back. You may be very surprised at what you hear. You may even have a computer that has a recorder built into it. It is important to relax and get the “real you” on the recorder. Therefore I suggest that either the beginning or end of your day, sit down with the recorder and tell the story of your day. Once you get into your story it will be much easier to speak naturally and chose the words you would normally say. Plus once you have recorded yourself a few times it will also become more natural and you will hear that “real you”. Because the real you really can retire a millionaire.

Let me know, via email, what kind of words you have been thinking and saying and which words you have changed. I would love to hear your success stories.

Changing the habit of my words has had a powerful impact on my life. It has even given me the courage to write this article and share what I have learnt with you! I hope that you will be able to impact your life in a powerful way also.

Believe it or not we control our own frustration levels. We create our own frustration by our reactions to events and situations. We ask ourselves over and over again why does this keep happening to me? Many times when “things” happen to us, we believe it is because of other people. When it is actually our reaction and how we respond that creates the situations we find ourselves in. When someone cuts me off in traffic I can decide if I am “gonna get even!!” or if I am going to say to myself “better they are in front of me so that I can see what they are doing”. We really can control our own frustration simply by the way we talk to ourselves.

Being locked into or attached to the outcome can be a big part of why we get frustrated. Sometimes we need to ask ourselves “Why am I so attached to this particular outcome?” I know for myself many times when I let go of my specific desired outcome and let other ideas in - the end result can be much better than I originally pictured.

if we use frustration wisely it can actually drive us. In my current efforts of building a home based business a huge part of my growth and personal development has come from using frustration to my advantage. Now I allow that frustration to drive me to do something different when things “just ain’t going the way I want them to”.

In the past when I was frustrated with a project or task I would walk away from it. Now I ask for help or assistance. Previously, I would go back to projects and tasks that I had walked away from, but in many of the cases, I only created the same frustration and would get myself into a vicious circle of frustration and walking away. The end result would be not completing the task or project. Now by asking for assistance I can learn a new way of doing something, apply it and “YAHOO” the project or task is completed.

We need to be clear in exactly what we want. Take a really close look at what you want. Are you doing the things you need to do on a daily basis in order to achieve what you really want? Make a list; keep it in front of yourself EVERY DAY. Because what we focus on is what we get. Are you ready to focus on retiring a millionaire?

Decide how you are going to use your frustration . Frustration creates energy, and we need to make a DECISION how we are going to use that energy. One of my first real success examples is when I quit smoking. At the time I had a 4 year old nephew he kept asking me “When are you going to quit smoking Auntie Carla?” then he would add the kicker “I don’t want you to die.” Now I know my sister and mother coached him on saying that but it still worked. People used to wrinkle their noses and move away from me in public arenas. Many of my friends had quit smoking and no longer invited me to all the social gatherings. My frustration with all of those different events happening in my life at the same time drove me to making the third and final attempt to quit smoking. I am happy to say that it was successful, not always easy but well worth it!!

What are you going to do to let frustration drive you? Send me an email let me know how the article has been beneficial for you and I would love to hear your success stories; even if you believe it is only a minor success. I believe that one small change now can change your future so please do send share with me about any and all of your success stories.

This is the seventh article in the Lotto Lies series. There seems to be no shortage of skeptics and critics who enjoy expressing their disdain at the use of Lottery Software to improve a player’s chances of winning the lottery. The standard fare of criticisms runs something like this:

• There couldn’t be any lottery trends because it’s a random draw.

• The states make sure that everyone has the same chance of winning the lottery.

• There is no possible advantage because it’s a fair game.

• Using a computer to find the lottery numbers to play is no better than using tarot cards, Ouija board or a fortune teller.

Even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, from the analysis of the histories of winning numbers from every lottery, the skeptics and critics fall back on what they think is their trump card. Using Lottery Software is cheating. That’s Lotto Lie #7; the subject of this, the final article in the Lotto Lies series.

Lotto Lie #7 – Using Lottery Software is cheating.

In previous articles in this series, I’ve given a few examples that address the question of the existence of lottery trends. It’s one of my favorite topics. But, in this article, I’m going to resist that temptation and focus on this cheating question.

It’s an absolute certainty that a Serious Lottery Player, properly using a quality Lottery Software product, can improve their chances of winning the lottery. But, is that cheating? NO. Properly preparing yourself before a game isn’t cheating; it’s smart.

The Dow opened at …

Stock Market investing firms around the world have spent Billions of dollars on software that analyzes the OHLC of every stock available for sale. Prior to, during and after every trading day, traders use that software to analyze every bit of data in order to make good decisions for the next day. For these Wall Street firms, security to protect their huge

investment in software, is paramount. Why? If everyone had access to their software, they wouldn’t have any advantage.

So, what is it they do with their software? They analyze what has happened in the past in order to help them predict what will happen in the future. The Best Lottery Software analyzes the past winning lottery numbers to help the player make better picks in the next drawing. So, I ask the critics, ‘Why is it fair for Wall Street, but not on Main Street?

Halloween is fast approaching. Only a few days left and we’ll all be enjoying the party. Were you able to make a perfect plan for your Halloween costume this year? How about your kids? Do they have the best kids costume for this year? Letting kids wear last years costume is not a good idea so, we’ll start by introducing bright ideas for this year’s celebration.

Scary costumes are always fit for the celebration, but Halloween party does not necessarily mean wearing scary Halloween costumes. Your kid can be a superhero, fairy tale character, cartoon or anime character, a book, a walking shower, a mad scientist or any imaginative character you can think of. All that you need is a little workout on your creativity and imagination. This is the day when you break the rules of letting kids wear their best dresses during parties.

Young boys are always on the adventurous side and giving them superhero costumes will be delightful. The undying craze for Spiderman and Venom is a good combination and are perfect costumes for kids. Ironman, Hulk, and Batman are additional choices suitable for the party. Kids can also portray the villain side characters such as Joker and Darth Vader.

Girls on the other hand are more interested in fairy tale and other female characters. Ariel from the Little Mermaid, Barbie, Hannah, and Gabriella are the most popular costumes for girls today. Fairy tale characters like Tinkerbell, Dorothy, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Snow White are also good costumes for young girls on the magical side of the occasion. Mix all these Halloween costumes with good decorations will blowout one good party.

For kids who want some scary looks, the traditional vampire, skeleton, mummy, jester, witch, wizard, and zombie are among the best choices that will surely satisfy the desire for scary looks. Just remember not put to much violent materials on a kid’s costume as some kids might find it bloody and get carried away. Most of these costumes are suitable for both genders.

Finding these incredible costumes is easy. You can pick any of these at the nearest store or have a look for more selection online. There are thousands of online stores that have wide collection of costumes that you can choose from. But before placing anything to the shopping cart, make sure to compare prices and inquiry additional detail about your pick.

The purpose of the celebration is to enjoy and feel the spirit of Halloween. No matter what costumes you choose for your kids make sure that it offers the comfort they need. These costumes will definitely not offer the same relaxation they’ll experience on their regular dresses. Informing them on things they need to adjust with the costume for the next few hours will be beneficial. The celebration can last for few hours, but the experience will remain forever. Let kids enjoy the celebration and Happy Halloween!

“Transitions are good and I hate them,” I said only half-jokingly to a dear friend a few years ago.

I love my life these days. I’m happily married, doing work that’s meaningful to me, and living on the water.

But I never would have gotten to this point without making my way through many transitions: moving, changing jobs, and ending relationships.

Although in hindsight, I’m grateful for the transitions that brought me to where I am today, in the midst of them I’ve often struggled and suffered.

PHASES OF TRANSITION

Life transitions are the passages we make when our lives change: something ends, there’s a time “in between,” and then a new beginning.

Endings can be triggered by external events such as job loss, retirement, illness, death, divorce, or an “empty nest.” They can also be initiated by internal events, something inside us shifting, changing, falling away, or coming apart.

After the ending there’s a neutral zone, a space between what was and what will be.

Eventually we find our way to a new beginning whatever form it may take: new relationships, projects, places, work, goals, passions, feelings, or self-identity.

In our culture, the process of transition — ending, in between, new beginning — is seldom recognized or valued. We are not taught how to do transitions which makes it harder to navigate our way through what is a natural, normal process. We think that we (and others) should just “get on with it!”

Transitions can be painful. Your thoughts may run wild. Your feelings (anger, grief, confusion, emptiness, fear) may be intense and feel out of control. It may seem the transition is never going to end. You struggle, fight, and resist it, which makes it more painful.

I’m definitely not going to say transitions are easy, fun, happy times. But in making my way through my own transitions and helping others through theirs, I’ve learned ways to more easily navigate these trying times.

IN YOUR LIFE

Here are some tips for making your way through life transitions with a bit more ease.

1) Recognize you’re in transition and identify where you are in the process.

Recently a friend of mine was struggling. As we talked it became clear she was smack in the midst of the neutral zone of a life transition. Just recognizing this created more ease in her and then we were able to identify some actions she could take to make her neutral zone time less painful and more fruitful.

2) Take your time.

Don’t try to hurry the inner process of transition. Transitions seem to have a life of their own so there’s no point in trying to put them on your mind’s timetable.

In the fall, our Japanese maple sheds its lacy leaves. Nothing will make new leaves appear before their time in the spring. So it is with our life transitions. They have their seasons and their phases. We can’t force ourselves to be done grieving. We can’t will ourselves to know what we want next. We can’t make ourselves stop feeling empty or confused. What we can do is allow ourselves the time we need.

3) Step up your self-care.

Transitions can take their toll on your body, mind, and spirit so pamper yourself. Make plenty of time to do what is most nourishing and nurturing for you.

The standard “prescriptions” of sleep, healthy food, and exercise will help. As will the special things that work best for you (massage, beach walks, playing with pets, time alone, dinner with friends, journaling, etc.).

4) Be with and deal with the stage you’re in.

If you’re in the ending phase, that may mean allowing your reactions, your grieving, your anger.

In the emptiness and seeming aimlessness of the neutral zone it might mean surrendering and taking reflective time for yourself.

As you move into new beginnings, cultivating your curiosity about what lies ahead and staying open to external and internal clues about what’s next for you can be helpful. You may also need to face your fears, anxieties, and doubts about the new beginnings that arise.

5) Follow your lights.

Don’t I always have to say something about this?!!? I do find this to be one of life’s most useful tools. Whether you’re in the ending, neutral zone, or new beginning phase of transitions, notice what lights you up. Although they may glimmer only faintly, some choices, some paths, some steps will have more energy than others. Following these glimmers will ease and may even accelerate your transition.

Like them or not, transitions are an unavoidable part of life. Most often they lead us to a next chapter in life which we enjoy even more than the previous one (even if we were sure that would never be the case!). May you navigate your transitions with a bit more ease and find your way to joyous new beginnings!

Enjoy!
